Levels of Verification and Excellence

How an animal climbs the levels

The ladder is cumulative, so an animal that no accredited veterinarian has seen stops at the first level.

    Identity Verified

    The animal's name, breed, sex and date of birth are on record, confirmed by IAGD approving the entry or by its owner attesting to it.

  2. 2

    Veterinarian Verified

    An approved IAGD veterinarian attests that the animal has been personally examined and, or vaccinated.

    Microchip Verified

    An ISO-compliant microchip is implanted and its number is recorded in IAGD, with the animal seen by an approved veterinarian.

    DNA Profile Verified

    The animal has a unique DNA profile on file. This is its genetic fingerprint for life.

  5. 5

    DNA Parentage Verified

    The DNA profile of the animal is matched against the DNA profile of its sire and, or dam.

How to apply

    Send your details, your PRC licence and a government ID.

  2. Step 2

    IAGD checks the licence against the name on your ID.

  3. Step 3

    You get the decision by email, then your profile goes live.

Do I need an IAGD account to apply?

No, apply signed out, and claim the record in the app whenever you install it.

Does accreditation cost anything?

No, there is no fee to apply and no fee to stay listed.

I am already in the registry. What do I do?

Open the app and type your licence number to claim the record.

Who sees my documents?

Only the IAGD reviewers, and the files never appear on your public profile.

Do owners pay me through IAGD?

No, you charge the owner directly for a visit.

Which specialties can I list?

General practice, Surgery, Dermatology, Cardiology, Dentistry, Emergency, Exotics, Nutrition, Behaviour. Owners filter the registry by them.

Can I leave the registry?

Yes, and the app removes your profile, licence details, documents and photo for good.
